The planned area of Shanghai Daling Bay is 17 square kilometers, stretching north to S32 Shenjiahu Expressway, west to Humin Road, east to Hongmei South Road, and south to Huangpu River. It focuses on developing leading industries in biomedicine, artificial intelligence, and high-end equipment, laying out new tracks in digital economy, green low-carbon, and metaverse, and creating a world-class science and technology innovation bay area. Among them, the operation carrier of Jiaotong University Science and Technology Park covers an area of 114000 square meters, focusing on AI, optoelectronic quantum, advanced manufacturing, and life and health. It has built a complete incubation chain of "maker space incubator accelerator", carried out achievement transformation, talent cultivation, school enterprise cooperation, entrepreneurship support, and acceleration camp activities.
HONG KONG ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE RESEARCH INSTITUTE (HK-AITRI) is affiliated with Hong Kong AI Technology Development Limited and was established by a group of scholars and industry practitioners dedicated to transforming industries with AI technology. The research institute is rooted in Hong Kong, building an AI industry laboratory and a collaborative platform between the institute and enterprises, aiming to fill the gaps in the manufacturing innovation system, create a multi-party collaborative innovation carrier, link various enterprises, universities, and government agencies, and jointly promote the high-quality development of advanced manufacturing industries. The research institute focuses on the practical application of physical AI and intelligent agents, and adopts a project-based approach to output research teams and cutting-edge AI technology capabilities, breaking down barriers between technology research and development and industry demand, helping physical enterprises achieve low-cost intelligent upgrades, and creating an industrial AI industry university research collaborative innovation platform for the Greater Bay Area.
Both sides have a high degree of complementarity: strategically, DaLing Bay undertakes technological breakthroughs from 0 to 1 and industrialization landing from 1 to 10; The research institute has the ability to commercialize technology and establish cross-border linkage channels. Technologically, the Bay Area excels in tackling low-level hard technology challenges; The research institute excels at breaking down real-world industrial problems into actionable AI technology solutions. Ecologically, the Bay Area has full cycle incubation and scientific and technological innovation financial resources; The research institute relies on its location in Hong Kong to empower enterprises to connect with international standards, overseas markets, and cross-border capital.
Both sides have reached a consensus on cooperation through in-depth exchanges, and will take joint project incubation, co construction of AI application scenarios, and two-way flow of cross-border talent projects as the starting point to leverage the composite advantages of mainland industrialization foundation and Hong Kong internationalization channel, and accelerate the landing of industrial artificial intelligence projects.
